You can ONLY get shingles if you've had chicken pox. It's the virus reactivating in adults. You can catch chicken pox from someone with shingles if you've never had the virus or the vaccination. But you cannot catch shingles.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8834449361711116465.post-35343984153716152112011-04-06T20:15:16.256-06:002011-04-06T20:15:16.256-06:00I heartily applaud your diligence in researching t...I heartily applaud your diligence in researching the subject of childhood immunizations. So many of us went along with what we were told instead of doing the research and making an EDUCATED decision. (This seems to be how most of us vote, too. "We're just a nation of SHEEP!") Kudos to you!Kymhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18202750034414721728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8834449361711116465.post-27294349537801902612011-01-20T12:32:15.818-07:002011-01-20T12:32:15.818-07:00I heartily applaud your diligence in researching t...I heartily applaud your diligence in researching the subject of childhood immunizations. I am going to start reading more about it because we were advised to wait until 6 months, but after reading some of what you said we may wait until 2 as well! Thanks for taking the time... it helps those of us that have no idea where to begin researching!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09036939624538654897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8834449361711116465.post-5169714582536318082011-01-20T09:33:21.984-07:002011-01-20T09:33:21.984-07:00Thanks, Anonymous. I was incorrect in the wording ...Thanks, Anonymous. I was incorrect in the wording involving 'catching' Shingles as it is a reactivation of the virus Chicken Pox. But you can actually have Shingles even though you are vaccinated with the Chicken Pox vaccine. My brother in law was one who received the vaccine and had Shingles in his teens. I have made a correction in my original post to clarify this issue.Katie Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01432907046961892638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8834449361711116465.post-16991489920590398522011-01-20T08:30:15.884-07:002011-01-20T08:30:15.884-07:00I think you may be a little confused about Shingle...I think you may be a little confused about Shingles.
