Gender Prediction #1

As I mentioned in my previous post, we are going to have some fun this pregnancy and try different gender prediction methods to see if we can guess the gender of this baby correctly!

We are opting out of trying to determine the gender at our level II ultrasound that will take place in mid-June.

So without further ado, our first gender prediction comes via Chinese Pregnancy Calendar through the Parents.com website.

Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's day!

I know I did.

We went to church this beautiful morning and enjoyed the guest speaker, he was hilarious! After church we went to lunch, yummy Mexican food! Even little lady enjoyed some beans and chicken, and she enjoyed getting it all over her dress... which we took these pics after lunch, so no dress. Later this afternoon we headed up to the mountains to visit family and enjoy delicious food!

Little lady and her Grammy, they enjoyed each other's company most of our visit!

Brandon's brother, Joe, surprised everyone with a visit. He got to meet his niece for the first time!

E loves music!! Every time Uncle Joe could be heard strumming, she was tuned in and captivated. :) We think he's pretty enjoyable to listen to also!

And Mother's Day wouldn't be complete with out including ALL of my children...

This is a little older, since we are almost at 4 months now. We have to take that picture this week :)

Our next appt is on Thursday and I'll be getting all the blood drawn for all the required tests. We have opted out of the genetic testing again so our next ultrasound will be in mid-June, when they will do the level II ultrasound.

At this ultrasound there is a possibility that they could peek and determine the gender of our baby bean. We have made a firm decision to not find out the gender at this time. We are excited to wait it out and be surprised at birth. I'm getting an itch to have some fun though and maybe we will try some different gender predicting tests to see what they say... then we'll see who is right on Birth Day!!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Out growing

Lately Evalyn has been losing interest in the "baby" toys she's always had to play with. She's out growing most of them. And to be honest they are for younger babes. She's getting older and starting to explore and trying to see how things work! We have just as much of a blast watching her as she does exploring!

So this last weekend we went to Toys'R'Us and sought out the activity center that would be the most for it's money.

This is what we found:

As you can see it allows her to stand. And there are many gadgets that all make noise and twist, turn, swivel, etc.

Around the other side is a keyboard that plays songs or allows her to "make up" her own songs. The keyboard part also detaches from the activity center and works stand alone.

So far she loves it and enjoys playing a little while and then she will check out something else and then come back for some more!

You may have noticed the "gate" that is up behind her. That was also a purchase we made this weekend! It's actually a 6 panel "gate" that can be linked together for an enclosed play area or used as a barrier. We are using it as the latter for the time being. The tv room, where we spend time watching movies or {Playhouse Disney in the mornings}, has many hazards for little fingers, to include a fire place, and was seeming to be impossible to baby proof with out emptying the entire room!

The barrier set up is much more practical. So far it's great and just keeps her away from the outsides of the room, where the fire place, tv, and wine cabinet all are. The rest of the space she has free reign and she doesn't even seem to mind that she can't get to those things any more.

And we feel much more at ease that our little explorer won't be harming herself anytime soon, at least we can hope!

9 month check-up

Today was my check up at the Dr's office, since I'm 9 months now!

Here's me with dada waiting for the Dr. They made me wear only a diaper so dada was keeping me warm with my blankie!

Mama forgot to post about my milestone last Sunday so I thought I'd help her out! She is busy growing my lil brother or sister in her 'tummy', you know.

Lately, I've been exploring and climbing and opening and digging and pulling and dragging pretty much anything I can find or get my hands on.

Mama says "No no" a lot and I think she is trying to hide or keep me away from the really good stuff... cause she always says it and then when I go ahead and do it anyway she comes over and picks me up and puts me on the complete opposite side of the room. So then I have to crawl all the way back over to find out what she's hiding! It's the game we play pretty much all day long!

By the end of the day I'm pretty pooped out and ready to go to bed.

I eat three meals a day just like mama and dada do. I still have a bottle in between. Although mama keeps putting my milk in this weird thing with handles on the side. The milk comes out the top part and I'm still trying to figure out what she expects me to do with it. She looks a little frustrated when I get sick of it and throw it on the ground. But then she gives my my "baba" and we are both happy again.

I've got two teeth on the bottom now and the doc said today that the top two are not far behind. I'm sure hoping they don't hurt like these others did but even if they do, mama is nice to cuddle me and hold me any time I want her to. I think she loves me a lot.

I've been toying with the idea of trying this walking thing. I like to pull myself up on the furniture so I can see better whats going on around me and then I'll hang on and walk along it. I can even stand up from sitting with out holding on, but usually I get a little worried by the time I'm up and so I sit right back down.

For now I can get around pretty quick on my hands, one knee and then one foot. At least mama and dada say I'm fast!

So here's my stats from the Dr's office today:

Weight: 20.1 lbs (75%)

Height: 29 in (90%)

So that's me at 9 months. I'm going to go see what I can get into ;)

Friend

On Friday night and Saturday morning to afternoon we watched a little girl of a couple we go to church with.

She is also an E!

She is a couple months younger than Evalyn.

They got the biggest kick out of each other.

Evalyn did show a little insecurity with having someone else getting "mama" and "dada's" attention!

I think they had fun together.

This is the beginning of a long friendship. :)

Heartbeat

I went to my ob appt yesterday and everything is great.

I heard the baby's heartbeat. 170 bpm (which is normal).

It was a standard visit so not much more to report.

I am hopeful that I might see the end of the sickness before too long!

I'm really excited about that.

Food still has strange tastes and I avoid some food like the plague.

But at least I am able to eat

which is a vast improvement to my first pregnancy with miss E.
