Our 4 Year Old Princess
Evalyn turned four this year. FOUR!! It doesn't seem real with the memory of her arrival in the hospital so vivid and it just doesn't seem possible to have been four years already...
And all the while it was the princess' mommy and daddy who got the greatest gift.... four years ago.
But she is our sweet four year old princess and she is the cutest, most precious princess in all the land.
This is the outfit she picked out for her party.
She wanted a princess party with her friends. Daddy made her a castle for all the princesses to play in. We all agree he is the best daddy in all the kingdom!
We are also very thankful to have a brave knight who will protect his princess sister and fight fire breathing dragons.
One of Evalyn's princess friends has a cousin who took a cake making class and she made a beautiful cake, special for our princess!
There was a lot of pink in our house on the day our princess turned four.
And all the while it was the princess' mommy and daddy who got the greatest gift.... four years ago.

Thrifting
I love thrifting!
Also pictured:
* End table {actually an old sewing machine table}: from my mama's house
* Lamp: already had it
* Brass apple: my great-grandmother's {a gift from me!}
* Accent pillow: World Market
* Egg crate {being used to hold kids books}: Etsy
And I love when my thrifting treasures come together!
I'm still planning on painting the newest chair (on the right) an antique white and hopefully reupholster the cushion.
I LOVE the detail on this chair {$10, ARC Thrift Store} and I think the white paint will highlight it really well.
Then I think a round pillow for the wingback chair {$25, Goodwill} and maybe a mirror on the wall behind it.
More treasure hunting!

The 4th
Our holiday was less than eventful. It's hard to feel like you are celebrating a holiday when it's technically a week day for Hubby's job and he doesn't get holiday's off unless it's his scheduled day off. But I love this holiday, I love dressing all patriotic and bbq-ing. I love the usual festivities that take place and I love fireworks. We haven't had fireworks here for 2 years now due to fires and fire risks.
But we dressed up any way. And we swam and at bbq and tried to make the best of our holiday as it was.
Here's our littles all dressed up! :)
Just for fun....
