My baby and I have xerosis, aka dry skin patches and I've spent so much $$ trying everything from oatmeal in a bath to thick creams and nothing seems to releave the itching or dry patches of the skin. It's even worse now with the dry weather. It's as if our skin doesn't retain any moisture? I would love to try something that actually works and smells good at the same time. This sounds like it would be heaven to me... It even sounds safe for babies skin. :D

Little Dude {2 Months}

**Check out the Nourish Baby Organics giveaway going on until Friday!

Two months old. It's hard to believe really. Actually it feels like you have been with us for longer than that.

You are such a sweetheart. And "easy."  You sleep through your sisters screaming and playing & when she's trying to shove your 'squishy' {pacifier} into your mouth whether you want it or not. Most of the time you just hang out were ever we are in the house and you let us know when you're hungry or need a change of scenery or a new position.

It's been a lot of work, taking care of you and your sister, who is still a baby herself. That I can't deny. But it feels like we've all just fit into our roles, like we were always meant to be this famliy of four. It's hard to explain really, but it just feels right.
Maybe it has something to do with your easy going personality. You are perfectly comfortable just laying on the floor looking around, watching your sister play around you. Or you might be found snoozing in your swing or hanging with mama in a carrier while I clean or make dinner. You are there with us while we do our daily things. And you seem happy to just be where we are.

I don't know if it's possible but I'm falling more and more in love with my handsome little man every day. I find my self thinking and wondering about the little person you will turn out to be and what personality God has chosen you to have. I can't help but dream and pray about the purpose He has set before you. And hope that you will desire to follow Him in what ever He has for you in the life. I know He has great things for your precious life

You are such a happy, content baby. I love the little smiles and coos that we get when we talk to you. And how you study our face when we hold you close. Although you are more awake now, you still sleep A LOT! You are usually down for the night by 9 or 10pm and sleep until 2 or 4 when you wake to eat, then you go back to sleep until 6 or 7am. Until we finish the final touches in your nursery you are still in our room.  While I'm excited to get your room done and have you settled in there, I'm going to miss having you so close to us at night.

You've finally out grown your newborn clothes and fit nicely in to 0-3 month size clothing. Right now you also still wear size 1 diaper, but once we use up the stock you have now you will be graduating on to cloth diapers.

As for how much you've grown in the last 2 months:

Weight:    11 lbs 5 oz {50% - gained 3 lbs 7.5 oz}
Height:     22.5 in  {45% - grown 2.5 in}
Head:       15.25 in  {25% - grown .5 in}

And to compare with your sister at this same age:

Little Lady {8 wks}

Little Dude {8 wks}

You and us, my sweet boy, we were meant to be.

A "Nourish-ing" Giveaway!

I am in love with these products!
As soon as I heard that they were all natural and made by a mommy I knew it was well worth a try!

Little Lady has had a skin rash, bumps and red blotchy patches, on her skin for as long as I can remember. The pediatrician doesn't even know what to call it because nothing works! I've used lotions, heavy creams, concoctions of all sorts but nothing has worked.

With the winter months upon us, hubby and I suffer from dry, dry, cracked and bleeding skin. But, my friends, I have found a cure...

The Nourish Baby Organics Lavender Oil is an answer to prayer for our family! I just put a cap full or two in a warm bath and Little Lady's skin is so soft and she smells so wonderful!! After just one bath I noticed a difference in the rash and after a couple night the rash is pretty much completely gone!

I even enjoyed a soak one afternoon at nap time. I couldn't believe how soft my skin felt! And the lavender scent is so relaxing. You can also rub it directly on to the skin and would be great for growing mama's bellies!

I am so in love with this product that I want to make a believer out of you too! Did I mention that it's completely all natural?! Check out the many other wonderful products they offer from washes, balms and even an organic eucalyptus chest rub.

All you have to do is leave a comment {one per person, please} telling me you would love to win {and trust me, you do!} and I'll pick a winner on Friday {Dec 17th}!! The winner will receive a 4oz bottle of the Organic Lavender Oil.

And Melissa at Nourish Baby Organics has been so generous to offer a 20% discount for any other products you might want to try! Just use the code "thelittles20" at checkout to receive the discount.

Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly!

We didn't exactly deck any halls today, and there wasn't any holly to be found here.

BUT we did finally get our Christmas tree decorated!!! Too bad it was nearly 60 degrees and felt nothing like just two weeks til Christmas. We usually sip on some Mountain Cider we always get at a local nursery we usually get our tree from every year.

But this year is just different:

- We didn't get a real tree {gasp!} like we said we'd always do. Instead we grab steal of a deal on a fake one and decided that we are going to probably do a real one every other year or every couple years. We'll see...

- We didn't drink cider while we decorated the tree like we usually do. Instead we rolled up our long sleeves and enjoyed the fresh air from the windows being open! Lovely, but not Christmas-y.

- We have little fingers eager to explore the tree's newly hanging decorations. But we only pretty much have glass ornaments. Ones we bought after we were married. Starting last year we decided to get a family ornament and an ornament for each child, then when they move out they have a start on their own tree. So as the years go by we'll have a bigger variety, and hopefully less breakable tree.

We are finally decorated for the season!

Overwhelmed.

Every year the busy holiday time of year comes biding promises of busyness, rushing and exhaustion.

And every year I vow to wage the war against it.

So far this year I feel like I'm losing.

After 2 failed attempts at holiday projects and a million several hurdles to overcome on a few others and not to mention the to-do list that seems longer than Santa's naughty or nice list... lets just say I'm struggling to find my Christmas cheer!

It seems that discovering the divine mint mocha from Caribou Coffee*, catching a few Christmas songs on the radio and a bare Christmas tree {only lights hang from it's branches} in my living room is about the few Christmas joys I've experienced this season so far...

*Did you know that they actually melt shavings of your choice of white, milk or dark chocolate right into the steamed milk?! And there is melted shaving of Andes mints in the mint mocha!! YUM

I had high hopes of making an adorable little Advent calendar or our family to use each year. A little family tradition that would entail a scripture reading focused on Jesus {He is the reason we celebrate Christmas in the first place!} and then an activity for us to do together to enjoy the season and days counting down to the Lord's first coming!

Well it was almost finished and looking so cute... I just needed to put the numbers on the pockets to mark the days. I started putting them on using good old black puff paint and took a break to make Little Lady some lunch. I didn't account for my little sweetheart being able to reach the drying Advent calendar freshly painted... and while my back was turned she got a hold of it. I turned back around to a black fingered Little Lady and a ruined calendar. We are still doing the scripture readings and activities that go along with it, but we won't be having an actual calendar up to count down with this year. I'm hoping to 'fix' it and have it for next year though!

Even though I'm feeling buried right now, I know that I can choose to find Christmas cheer and enjoy the season in spite of busyness that seems to be consuming us right now. So that is just what I'll do! God is so good and He is faithful to provide so much for my family. He is why we get to have this wonderful Holiday in the first place and I am making the choice, right now, to enjoy Him and what He came to do for me. I'm praying and waiting hopeful for His second coming!!

I'm off to put on a Christmas movie and sip some hot cocoa!
